A mostly marine blog from a girl who has a serious thing for fish. My personal blog. I do not own any of the photos unless otherwise stated. Enjoy.
The greater weever (Trachinus draco) is one of very few venomous fish found in European waters. It has a long body, large eyes, and two dorsal fins, the first of which has venomous spines. During the day, the fish lies buried in the sand with just its eyes and fin-tip exposed. A painful would can result from stepping on the fish in shallow water.
